Go Fly a Kite

Ready, set...Run!

Let go on cue and parrot takes off!

Maintaining momentum is crucial to a good flight!

The gusty winds made flying a kite from the ground tricky, but with lots of perseverance and ingenuity Kade did manage to keep his feet on the ground and send parrot high in the sky!

In the final scene of Mary Poppins, Mr. Banks begins,

"With tuppence for paper and strings
You can have your own set of wings
With your feet on the ground
You're a bird in a flight
With your fist holding tight
To the string of your kite

Oh, oh, oh!
Let's go fly a kite
Up to the highest height!
Let's go fly a kite and send it soaring
Up through the atmosphere
Up where the air is clear
Oh, let's go fly a kite!"

And in the end everything is as it should be!

Later in the evening, our eyes were cast downward when Kade discovered the infamous banana slug along the trail.

Handsome little fellow, huh?!?
